September Athletes of the Month: Carter Hewitt, Sean Hitchens

Despite racing in the worst conditions of the day, Nick finished 4th for Brookwood in the 11th and 12th grade race at Wendy's. He finished strong around the lake to finish right on the heels of his teammate, passing his competitors along the way right into the finish chute.

Michael achieved a personal best of 16:14, leading our short-handed varsity team to a 4th place finish at the Wendy's Invitational. Michael started strong and continued to gain positions in the second half of the race. His finishing kick earned him 6th place overall in the invitational division.

Robby Ryan

At the Peachtree Ridge Invitational, Robby finished 2nd for Brookwood, earning a medal in the varsity race with a time of 17:18. Despite a hard early pace, Robby fought to help lead his team to a 3rd place finish. While he struggled a bit early season, it appears as if Robby is back on track!

Daniel babin

In the Junior Varsity race at the Peachtree Ridge Invitational, Daniel, a senior, broke through with a PR while finishing 15th overall, 3rd for Brookwood. With his contribution, we took 3rd overall in that race. Daniel's PR is nearly 2:00 faster than his 2006 best!

Tommy George

Tommy continued to improve, even on the challenging course at Maymont Park, at the Maymont XC Festival in Richmond, VA. Tommy not only led our "B" team to a 10th place finish in the prestigious Gold Division, but he also set a new PR of 17:11 while finishing 17th overall!

Justin Whitaker

At the Marist Clash Clash, Justin was our 4th overall finisher in the varsity race. His strength back on the hills in the 2nd mile was the reason for his breakthrough performance! With this run, Justin earned a spot on the team traveling to Wendy's on October 6th!

Tyler Anyan

Tyler had a strong push in the last .1 in the varsity race to finish 2nd for Brookwood, as he passed Grayson's Eric Nawyn to finish 7th overall.
He was the meet's top finishing sophomore, and his success is a direct result of all the hard work he put in over the summer.
His PR last year was just under 19:00, meaning he's improved more than 2 minutes! Those summer miles are certainly paying off!

Evan had an outstanding kick in the last 300m of the open race at county to finish 2nd overall,
leading our Broncos to a strong 2nd place showing. A senior, his run also set a PR of 17:29, 30 seconds faster
than his fastest time of 2006!

Zack Robinson

Zack's 2nd place finish in the 9th-10th grade race gave the team a boost to help us win our only 1st place trophy of the day.
In the last 400m of the race, he blew past a Mill Creek runner to finish close behind fellow-Bronco Tommy George,
with an outstanding PR of 17:26.

Zac Brooks

In the Championship JV race at Carrollton, freshman-sensation Zac Brooks annihilated the field in the 2nd half of the race.
He followed the race plan perfectly from the start, sitting behind the leaders, but pulled away to win easily, 150m ahead of 2nd place.
